So, I have this book called "An Outline of American Geography" that the US Embassy gave me in a little packet in Tokyo, along with outlines of US history, literature, government, and economics. We were a little annoyed to suddenly receive all this crap, most of us having already crammed all our luggage nearly to bursting, and my roommate immediately tossed his "outlines" in the trash. I'm actually toying with the idea of reading mine...
Anyway, I was talking about geography. In the book it divides the US into a whole bunch of geographic regions, like Appalachian Highlands, The Great Plains, California (California is not like anything else, man)... Turns out the region that includes pretty much everywhere I've ever lived is called The Empty Interior.
Yeah, that sounds like where I'm from.
