I finally found a website with some good information on Popeye.

"If you watch it backwards, it has a plot." -Robin Williams

It makes me laugh when I read about why people think Popeye sucks, because the reasons they hate it (it's chaotic, disjointed, hard to follow) are the reasons I love it and can still watch it today with as much joy and interest as ever. I'd probably describe it as complex (yet so simple, at the same time), multi-layered, and lovingly detailed.

Reading about this Harry Nilsson, he seems like a pretty interesting guy. I passionately love the music on Popeye, so maybe I should look into some of his other stuff...

I wish I could get a copy of the Popeye soundtrack. I think it's too much to hope that it will ever be released on CD. I'll just have to keep an eye out for an old vinyl copy. Let me know if you ever come across one...

I'm dismayed to find that a flight from Japan to Beijing costs about as much as a flight from Japan to Las Vegas (or Las Vegas to Beijing, for that matter). It also costs about four times as much as a flight to Seoul. What gives, man? This is really frustrating.

I have to get to Beijing before I can get to Pyongyang, you see.
