hugo follow up
Aug. 9th, 2005 01:37 pmSo. They announced the Hugo Award winners. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell winning is not really a surprise. I actually have that, but I haven't cracked it yet. It's a little unwieldy to carry around on trains and stuff. Anyway, the Concrete Jungle won best novella, which I ranked 3 of 5 and enjoyed very much. The Faery Handbag won best novellette, which I ranked 2 of 5 and adored. Travels With My Cats won best short story, which I ranked 3 of 5 and liked very much.
So, none of my favorites won. But everything that won was something I actually liked; none of the stories I despised won. Which is good.
(By the way, my thoughts on the nominees are here.)
