again with the bureaucratic bullshit

So, yeah. Looks like we got us a typhoon tomorrow. The students will stay home. But I still have to go to school and sit there doing jack shit all day. Since tomorrow morning I'm scheduled to be at the preschool until noon, and since I will not be going to the preschool if there's a typhoon, I asked head teacher dude if it would be alright if I just showed up at noon. He said no, that I had to come in at 8 am and stamp the damn thing. He implied that, having walked TO the school in a typhoon, if I so desired I could then walk BACK HOME, only to RETURN at noon, but if I wanted to skip the damn stamp, I would have to use a half day of my vacation time.

What. A. Dick.

I understand that to some extent this is just Japanese culture, but I also understand that of all the people who have had a say in my work schedule, he is the only one who is militantly anal like this.

Now watch me get killed by flying debris as I walk to school tomorrow in the middle of a FUCKING TYPHOON.
