Today is six months since I arrived in Japan. It's looking like I'll be here for another 18.

Is that a resigned "I have to be here for another 18 months" or a vote of confidence "I'm deciding to stay another 18 months"?

A little of both. Weighted more towards the vote of confidence thing.

And... I tend to despise it on Mondays and Tuesdays (middle school days) and like it pretty well the rest of the week.
