As recently as a year or two ago, I remember thinking that no new good bands were coming out and that the only good music being made was from bands who had already been around for a long time. I've changed my mind on that now. Which is a relief; I was worried I was getting old!

Also, today I realized that I am very fond of accordions.

I'm glad you've changed your mind. I have friends who tell me things like that, that they're bored with new music and nothing excites them and it drives me nuts.

Maybe I'm just a freak show, but there's too much new stuff out there for me, I can't possibly keep up with it all. But I'm grateful for that, better an overflow than a drought.

I'm also an accordion fan. Banjos, too. I cheer any instance of rock n roll banjo.

That's exactly how I feel. Sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and say, "Forget it! I'm tired! I give up! No more new music!" But then something else comes along, and I buy it, and I love it, and I feel like my life would have that much less color if I had never gotten it, and so I can't stop.

I'm lucky in that I've got a good collection of friends who keep up on new music a lot better than I do, who understand my tastes and give me good recommendations. Takes a lot of the load off me!
