american culture in a word

So, one time I asked Junko to describe Japanese culture in a word, and without hesitation she said, "Shame." Turns out that's a pretty good answer. But then I was trying to think of one word to describe American culture, and I couldn't quite come up with one. What do you think? I don't have the authority to make a poll, so just answer in a comment, if you please.
