Sometimes I think I should write a little text file filled with the email addresses of people who I'd want to be notified if I died, people who my parents might not know (how) to contact. Like the people who know me through places like this, for instance. I'd put it on the desktop of my laptop and entitle it "In The Event Of My Untimely Death," or something. It's hard to bring yourself to do something like that, though. But really, you never know when you might die. It's not a question of if...

I've done this before, but in letter form, enclosed in an envelope with much the same title written upon it as you mentioned. I tucked it away where I figured someone would find it after my death, as I don't think seeing such a thing on your desktop every day would be very uplifting, to say the least.

I've since destroyed all documents like that though. But I guess having a will with such details wouldn't hurt.
