stormsewerI have consistently been wrong about when I will have my dissertation finished, but the time frame of my failed predictions has been steadily contracting. Next year, this year, next semester, next month, this month, next week, this week, tomorrow.
Today.
I am Zeno's graduate student. I am the limit of x as x goes to done.
Infinity is whirling down toward nothing right in front of me. The immediate future is a singularity, an event horizon, a black hole.
