So, I've been reading
jonathancarroll lately, and perhaps that explains this post.
Yesterday I was sitting in Mr. Donuts at Hakata Station. Looking outside at the people passing, I saw a look of shock on a young woman's face as an umbrella someone was carrying caught on her shopping bag for a moment before detaching. Obviously the person carrying the umbrella passed by without realizing what had happened. She looked around for a split second as if trying to find a sympathetic bystander and then looked into the bag to verify that everything was present and intact. And then she continued on her way.
