mashed teacher

Before I left for America, one of my neighbors gave me a sack of potatoes. Last night I made an attempt at mashed potatoes using a whisk to mash them up, and... I'd call it a success! Looks like I'll be entering my Mashed Potato Period here soon.
One of the high school teachers got a spectacluar tongue lashing from the head teacher guy this morning. No one seems to be quite sure what he was so pissed off about, either. Weird.

It did recall to my mind a book, whose English title is Fear and Trembling and inspired me to finally start into reading it in the original French, which I've been engaged in this weekend. Good times. Or something.

Date: 2005-06-27 07:48 pm (UTC)But yeah, I'm also all about the taters. Mashed, as hash browns, oven fries, etc. Baked potatoes, too. I was at a diner a few days ago and all I wanted was a baked potato, but the menu said "after 5pm only". What?
I would love to be fluent enough in a language to be able to read an entire high-level book in it. I need to improve my Spanish and Portuguese.
