Before I left for America, one of my neighbors gave me a sack of potatoes. Last night I made an attempt at mashed potatoes using a whisk to mash them up, and... I'd call it a success! Looks like I'll be entering my Mashed Potato Period here soon.

One of the high school teachers got a spectacluar tongue lashing from the head teacher guy this morning. No one seems to be quite sure what he was so pissed off about, either. Weird.

Mashed potatoes is something we ate all the time at my house when I was growing up. I loved them then and love them now, but I just don't eat them very often anymore for whatever reason.

But yeah, I'm also all about the taters. Mashed, as hash browns, oven fries, etc. Baked potatoes, too. I was at a diner a few days ago and all I wanted was a baked potato, but the menu said "after 5pm only". What?

I would love to be fluent enough in a language to be able to read an entire high-level book in it. I need to improve my Spanish and Portuguese.
