Excellent song, that loping drum loop and bassline coupled with those short but sweet guitar solos do it for me every time. I dunno, something about that song just feels like the mid-'80s zeitgeist. It also seems to ring true again 20 years down the road.

I have a lot of time for Tears For Fears in general, now that I think about it. My favorite album of theirs is probably "The Seeds Of Love" -- richly melodic and a weird kind of late-career Beatles vibe. "The Hurting" and "Songs From The Big Chair" are very good, too, just not quite as uniformly great as "Seeds". Their 'comeback' album from last year was rather enjoyable, as well.
I just have their greatest hits album, as well as Songs From The Big Chair on vinyl. Good stuff, though, and that lyric is a really good description of my general mental state over the last fifteen or twenty years...
