I got Coldplay's new album today. I really, really like it. I tentatively gave the band my support after A Rush of Blood to the Head, but this... I am 100% behind this. Somehow, when a band that's actually really good gets really popular, it restores my faith in humanity just a little bit.

On a first listen, tracks 3-5, "White Shadows," "Fix You," and "Talk" really stand out. It's anybody's guess which ones will end up being my actual favorites, though.

I felt the exact same way as you do when I picked up X&Y. I'd say my favorites are Square One, then the amazing songs 3-5 stretch you mentioned, plus A Message and Till Kingdom Come (gets me every single time).
