That's excellent! For a culture that will apparently never truly accept you, it's good to know that they'll at least sort of be kind to you from time to time.
Yeah, and sometimes I think they're nicer to me BECAUSE they won't accept me. Like, they have a sense of hospitality, a desire to give foreigners a good impression of Japan.
