Sim City was fun, but I got tired of it quickly. For various reasons I never tried The Sims and I probably won't start. But I don't think I'll be able to stay aware from Spore. It's just too cool. Check it out. One of the things I like about it is that it kind of tricks you into exercising your creative powers. So many games give us excuses to let other people imagine for us, but this one seems to really make you do a lot of that yourself. I'm excited for this one! It's slated to come out at the end of the year, apparently.
(The interface seems to be entirely graphical, as well, which is encouraging, because I think WTF would like it, too. She basically mocked me and called me a geek when I bought Princess Maker, but guess who spent a large chunk of the weekend playing it? She's a a total geek, she just doesn't know it.)

Those are my favorite games. Spore sounds absolutely awesome.
