stormsewerHa. I have the Japanese version of the new Final Fantasy movie, and this review makes me feel a lot better for not having any clue what was going on. After the second time I watched it, it was like, "Well, I understand most of what was said but... I have no idea what this film is about."
The graphics are truly well done. I think you need to remember when watching it that it is a straight to video (disc) release (though that doesn't have the same stigma in Japan that it does in the US). Though yes, if you never played the original game (Final Fantasy VII), you probably won't like it unless you like cool CG fight scences that aren't even close to obeying the rules of physics.
