So, I went to a very unique travel destination the weekend before last. Since it's technically illegal to go there I'm not sure if I want to tell you what it's called or where it's located. Hint: it is in Japan and when it was inhabited it hit what is supposedly the highest human population density ever recorded. This time I'll just give you some tantalizing pictures of what it looks like from the outside...

Awesome pictures. I looked up the island and read about its history but didn't come across any mention that it's illegal to visit.

Well, it is. To get there you kind of have to talk to the guy who knows the guy who has the thing, you know. The Japanese Wikipedia entry notes it, as do some of the photo collections around the web.
