超寒い

The elementary school is SO cold. The hallways are pretty much the same temperature as outside. The thermometer in the hallway reads just under 4 degrees Celsius right now, or about 39 degrees Fareinheit. The classrooms are marginally warmer, but there's no actual heating. There's quasi-heating in the staff room. The kids were laughing at me for being cold again today. This is insane.

Can you buy a space heater for your classroom, just sort of carry it around the building with you?

I can't imagine how miserable you must be right now. I was constantly cold when I was in the UK during a damp winter, and that's a country that at least sort of believes in central heating. Whatever you do, warm up soon.

No, I wouldn't do that. I have to be a gokurousama, as they say. You'd probably translate that as "hard worker," but it literally means "person in pain." I'm building character, here! I'm just glad I grew up in a cold place, so that I actually have some experience with cold. I can't imagine what this would be like for me if I had been born and raised in Florida or something.
